The ultimate in lightweight handlebars for your road bike, the Darimo Ellipse road handlebar sets a new standard with a weight of just 128 grams in a width of 420 mm.
The handlebar is made entirely of carbon fiber, with an exclusive combination of bi-directional and unidirectional fabrics with the right orientation to achieve the best weight-strength-stiffness ratio, always keeping your safety in mind. The correct arrangement of the fiber layers was obtained after finite element calculations and destructive testing.
This type of laminate can only be achieved with a completely handmade construction with handmade carbon layer placement on each handlebar, with a different number and arrangement of layers at each point.
The central diameter is 31.8 mm, adapted to current standards.
The upper part has a flattened shape to increase comfort during hours of riding. The lower part has external grooves for brake and gearshift cables.
Measurements: Currently manufactured in widths of 360-380-400-420-440 mm measured from center to center. With a "compact" shape, it has a reach of 77 mm and a drop of 128 mm.
Triathlon extension: The central area has sufficient width for the mounting of extensions, but you should request a specifically reinforced version.
Finish: There are four possible finishes with the combination of gloss or matt, bidirectional (3k) or unidirectional. The unidirectional version, only in the central part, has a weight increase of about 8 grams.
Weight limit: The Darimo handlebar is safe and exceeds ISO 4210-2 tests, so it is valid for a total system weight (bike, rider, luggage) of maximum 110 kg. For riders weighing over 90 kg, we recommend a reinforced version to increase rigidity.
