With a good appraisal, you'll get started

Whether you are a runner between seasons or any cyclist who wants to improve, you need to have a structured training plan. But to build one, you need to gather some essential basic data.

For example: how much power can you maintain for an hour, twenty minutes, five minutes, or one minute?

This data will be used to quantify future training sessions and measure improvements.

Let's face it, assessment isn't pleasant. You push yourself to the limit, and in the end, you reach your limits. But without the right basic data, you'll train poorly. Either too hard or not hard enough. You also won't know which areas (VO2MAX, endurance, etc.) to work on to improve. And in the end, you'll have nothing to compare the before and after, or how your body reacts to training in the middle of the plan.
